US 60 DRAGWAY 

TRACK RULES


1.   It is your responsibility to check your Dial-in on the Scoreboard before you pre-stage. 

2.   Dial-ins must be on passenger window or on dial-in boards.

3.   Bye Runs are chosen  by the best reaction times. You have that bye until you use it or you lose a race, at that time a new bye is selected. YOU MUST WIN TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR BYE.   

4.   One working tail light is required on all vehicles.

5.   No excessive braking at finish line.

6.   If you are in staging lanes you will be paired up if broke or not.

7.   Bye-Backs must be with the same vehicle and driver as the round before.

8.   Staging must be in forward motion.

9.   Each Racer must have Tech card and sign Waiver.

10.  Courtesy Staging:  Both cars must Pre-stage before either can stage.

11.  Auto-Start is used in all RACES.  Tree will drop 7 seconds after the first car stages.

12.  White line is judgment line for dial-in and Lane assignment.

13.  If you want Right Lane get in odd # lane, Left lane Even # lane. If both cars want same lane you flip for it. Only exception is in a Qualified field like Quick 8, where fastest gets lane choice.

14.  Speed Limit in Pits is 5MPH!

15.  No motorized vehicle except Race Cars in staging.  No skate Boards in staging lanes. No one under 16 allowed to be driving in pits except in JR Dragster.

16.  CAN NOT CHANGE CARS IN MIDDLE OF RACE

17.  Make sure that SEAT BELTS are FASTENED and Helmets are ON.

18. NO ANTIFREEZE ALLOW IN ANYTHING BUT STREET CARS. THERE WILL BE A $500.00 FINE FOR ANY CLEANUP DUE TO ANTIFREEZE!

General Rules:
-Any Door Car
-No Dragsters or Roadsters
-General Safety Rules for ET of vehicle
-Transbrakes and 2-steps permitted
- Delay boxes, throttle stops, and starting line enhancers prohibited.
- If vehicle has a delay box installed and wishes to compete, the delay box must be
bypassed or disconnected with a visible connector.
Competition Rules:
-Qualifying is determined by best positive reaction time closest to +.000. Negative
reaction times will be put below the slowest positive reaction time and descend from
there. The more red you are, the further down you’ll be on the ladder. Qualifying is
first come first serve. If there are duplicate reaction times in qualifying, the driver
who got the reaction time first gets the better qualifying position.
-Courtesy Staging mandatory.
-Deep Staging permitted. Driver must write DEEP on side window. It is encouraged
when pairing in the staging lanes to let their opponent know you are deep staging to
negotiate extra time for deep staging. It is the Deep Stage driver’s responsibility to
stage before the opponent lights the Full Stage bulb.
-If driver fails to complete a qualifying round, they will be last on the qualifying
ladder, and will have to choose 6.00, 7.00, or 8.00 as their index.
-Lane choice shall be decided between drivers when pairing. If choice is not
determined, staging lane tech will determine by coin toss.

NOSTALGIA COMBO RULES

Format- 
- 1/8th Mile
- .500 Full Tree
- .25 Second Indexes w/ Breakout
- Chip Draw for Ladder Positions Before 1st Round
- Footbrake Only

Body-
- Any 1955-1985 American Production Makes and Models available with factory production V8 engines
- Must be rear wheel drive
- Must meet all safety rules for ET and speed car will be running
- Cars must retain factory steel roof and quarter panels
- Must retain original body lines except minimal trimming for tire clearance
- Hoods required. Scoops permitted if period correct and meet the aesthetic of the class. No forward-facing snorkel or "prostock" scoops. Entire induction system must be covered, except for entries using period correct mechanical fuel injection. (i.e. Hilborn Injection)
- Lightweight fenders, hood, doors, decklid, and bumpers allowed
- Lexan and other NHRA approved lightweight windows permitted
- Stock appearing bumpers required and grilles required
- No spoilers or rear wing allowed unless factory available option
- Inner fenders must be retained with trimming for header clearance permitted
- Firewall must be in factory location. (Shaving and block off plates permitted)
- Full stock floor pans in stock location required with modifications for fuel cell and clearances permitted
- Wheel tubs permitted
- Fuel Cells permitted and must have a bulkhead of minimum .032" aluminum or .024" steel separating the driver compartment from the cell
- Cars must be completely painted or wrapped. Sponsor decals and lettering permitted on painted panels

Interior-
- Must have full factory seating, upholstery, and carpeting (including door panels and head liners)
- Aftermarket upholstered bucket seats permitted. Must have 2 front seats
- Full dashboard mandatory. Aftermarket gauges permitted
- Rear seat may be removed when roll bar/cage is installed. Area must be carpeted or upholstered equivalent to factory specifications (no bare paneling)
 
Frame-
- Must have stock frame rails. Bracing and Notching permitted

Front Suspension: 
- Factory configuration front suspension required. Aftermarket tubular front control arms permitted
- Front coil-over shocks prohibited unless OEM equipped
- Steering components must be stock configuration. Rack and Pinion steering only permitted on OEM equipped models.

Rear Suspension-
- Stock or Aftermarket Suspension Permitted
-Wheelie Bars permitted

Brakes- 
- Must have working brakes on all 4 axles
- Aftermarket race brakes and master cylinders permitted
- Master cylinder must be in stock location
- Front line lock permitted

Engine- 
- Engine must be era correct small block or big block V8 only (pre-1985)
- Engine must correspond with manufacturer of chassis (i.e. Ford in a Ford, Pontiac in a Pontiac)
- Any internal engine modification permitted
- No dry sump oil systems
- Aftermarket cast iron or aluminum heads permitted but must appear as original design of era of engine. Any internal modifications permitted. Any valvetrain permitted
- Commercially available cast or aluminum intake manifolds required. Sheet Metal intakes only permitted for 6.25 or faster (NSS FX)
- Carbureted Only. Mechanical Injection permitted for 6.25 or faster (NSS FX). No Electronic Fuel Injection
- Adjustable restrictor plates permitted. Pneumatic or Electronic Throttle Stops Prohibited
- Electric water pumps and cooling fans permitted
- Stock location cam gear driven distributor required
- Radiator required in stock location
- Engine diaper or oil retention pan highly encouraged
- No power adders, must be naturally aspirated

Exhaust-
- Open headers, collector mufflers or full exhaust permitted. Exhaust must exit behind driver, no fender-exit headers

Transmission-
*Manual Transmissions:
- OEM or aftermarket manual transmissions with 4 forward gears maximum
- Clutchless transmissions prohibited
- All launches and shifts must be made manually by feet and hands
- Launch rev limiter permitted on manual transmission entries only

*Automatic Transmissions:
- Any stock or aftermarket version of era correct OEM produced automatic transmissions permitted
- Transbrakes prohibited
(If car is equipped with a transbrake solenoid and needs the solenoid to engage to go into reverse, a positive locking toggle switch must be installed and visible by tech officials. No momentary switches or buttons)
- All shifts must be made manually. (no pneumatic or electric shifters)
- Launch rev limiters prohibited on automatic transmission entries

Electrical-
- Battery may be relocated to trunk/rear cargo area but must have a working shut off switch
- Charging system optional
- Stock or aftermarket ignition systems permitted. Programmable ignitions are prohibited.
- Throttle stops, transbrakes, delay boxes, traction control, timers, and all other programmable starting line and down track electronics are prohibited.

Fuel:
- Permitted Fuels: Gasoline, E85 and Alcohol

Wheels and Tires: 
- Rear tires limited to a 33x10.5W
- Front tires limited to 26x4.5 front runner. Spindle mount wheels prohibited
- Tires must not excessively protrude from edges of rear fenders, or excessively tuck into wheel tubs

Indexes:
- Racer must determine .25 second index and write it on their tech card and car windows
- 5.75, 6.00, 6.25, 6.50, 6.75, 7.00, 7.25, 7.50, 7.75, 8.00, 8.25, 8.50, 8.75, 9.00
- Index can be changed by alerting the tower before 1st round of Eliminations
- Once 1st round of eliminations starts, your index is locked
